The two-day programme covers retinopathy of prematurity, paediatric retinal detachment, inherited retinal diseases, myopia, intraocular tumours, and ocular trauma. Open to ophthalmologists, paediatric specialists, vision scientists, and trainees from across the region and beyond.

The 1st APPREA Congress was hosted by Prof. Peiquan Zhao in Shanghai in November 2024. The congress brought together paediatric retina specialists from across the region and was held at the China Grain Hotel, with the inaugural Round Table Council Meeting on 7 November 2024.
The meeting endorsed the APPREA constitution, elected the founding office bearers and council, and set the programme for the society's first three years.
